Exercises and key points
How to combine tongue positions, “mmm” voice types and jaw movement
Keep the tip of your tongue covering your upper front teeth and sustain a nasal “mmm” hum. In this position, practice switching between the Goo, Choki and Paa voice types you learned earlier.
Is there anything I should watch out for while practicing?
Keep these three points in mind. • Keep your tongue tip against your teeth while vocalizing. • Keep your voice continuous. • Do not stop moving your jaw.
My tongue tip tends to slip off my front teeth. How can I fix that?
Alternate between barely touching your tongue tip with your teeth and gently holding it between them. Continue these light movements while practicing independent control of your jaw.
Listen to the examples and try
Keep the volume low and play the examples one at a time to hear the differences between the voices.
