LESSON GUIDE

Exercises and key points

How to combine tongue positions, “mmm” voice types and neck movement

Teacher

First, slowly move your neck from side to side. Keep doing this while holding the tip of your tongue over your upper front teeth. Make a nasal “mmm” hum and practice switching between Goo, Choki and Paa as before.

Student

If curling my tongue becomes too difficult when I add neck movement, should I switch to gently holding it between my teeth?

Teacher

Yes, exactly! Work up gradually without straining. It is fine as long as you eventually become able to do the tongue-curling exercise.
